Halfway between Dallas and Texarkana sits the city of Sulphur Springs in Hopkins County, also known as the “Dairy Capital of Texas.” Originally named Bright Star by the first pioneers to settle in this part of the Lone Star State, the area was soon renamed to Sulphur Springs after its 100 or so natural springs.
While the popularity of the springs has waned over the last century, the popularity of Sulphur Springs has not, with outdoor movies, concerts, and markets marking the culture of this historic town. As an added benefit, Sulphur Springs is part of Texas’ deregulated energy market, allowing consumers to shop for residential and commercial energy plans of their choice.
